Bourhyte was an Engineer in the 5th Michigan Infantry at the Detroit Barracks. Alpheus S. Williams (1810-1878) served as a member of Congress, 1875-1877 and 1877-1878. He studied at Yale, 1832-1833. In 1836 Williams moved to Detroit (Mich.) and practiced law. He served as Judge of Probate for Wayne County, 1840-1844. During the Mexican War, 1847-1848, Williams served as a Lt.
